Jeri Lynn Bakken

Jeri Lynn Bakken is a lifelong promoter of agriculture since her childhood on the family ranch
participating in 4-H and FFA and watching her parents work tirelessly for family farmers and
ranchers and their communities. For 18 years Jeri worked as a community organizer with the
Western Organization of Resource Councils network, where she was able to work with ranchers to
develop the Captive Supply Reform and Mandatory Price Reporting rules and fight for fair trade.
Through her organizing work she has had the opportunity to work with people from all aspects of the
agricultural field. Jeri is proud to continue her work in promoting family-based agriculture as the
Vocational Agriculture teacher for grades 7-12 at Mott-Regent High School in Mott, ND. She also
farms and ranches with her husband, DeJon near Lemmon, SD. Her children have followed in her
footsteps to promote agriculture and fair markets. Leif (24) is a broadcaster for the Northern Ag
Network in Billings and Mirandi (21) is a Sr. at Montana State University studying Social
