Have You Been Affected by Large Agribusiness Mergers? Take This Quick Survey

The last year and half has brought many changes to the farming community. One of the biggest has been the wave of mergers sweeping through the major corporations many farmers rely upon for seeds and chemicals. Two major mergers have been completed (Dow & DuPont and Syngenta & ChemChina). One more is still pending: Monsanto & Bayer.

The U.S. Department of Justice and many state Attorneys General are reviewing that merger and looking for farmer input. Now is your chance to make your voice heard by completing this brief survey. We will share the survey results with these policymakers.

The survey:

  • is confidential and we will not know any personal information unless you choose to share it
  • will take about 12 minutes to complete
  • was designed to help the U.S. Department of Justice and agricultural policy makers understand the structure of the market and how farmers make some key decisions

The survey will remain open until midnight February 12th. Please fill out the survey and share it with others who have been affected by large agribusiness mergers.

Organization for Competitive Markets is working with a number of organizations to collect information from farmers about these mergers. Other organizations working on this effort include National Farmers Union, National Family Farm Coalition, Northeast Organic Dairy Producers Alliance, Organic Farmers Association, and Farm Aid. We will use it to inform policymakers and law enforcement officials in D.C. and in state capitols about the impact of corporate power on farming.
